In the years since completing my first teacher training in 2007, I’m continually gratified by the deeply nourishing benefits the practice of Yoga and Meditation can have. When we progressively quieten the thinking mind, even if only briefly, the wisdom of the heart, or our intuitive inner support, can begin to emerge. It’s from this kind and compassionate place that we can gently turn towards the hindrances, or conditioned habit patterns of our mind, that prevent us from feeling contentment, happiness and at ease in our life. It’s these unhelpful habitual patterns that cause us to make unwholesome choices, and perpetuate cycles we know deep down are no longer serving us.

This deepening of awareness opens the door to choice and to recognise the possibility of a different way of being. This recognition is indescribably empowering, and it is my heartfelt desire to guide others to find themselves. To no longer be at the mercy of the fluctuations of the mind, but instead use them as a guide for growth and transformation. I have been humbled over my years of exploration to learn this is a life practice, one that unfolds gradually and takes an attitude of patience and perseverance to progress. The benefits of this effort far exceed the fruits of your labor, and result in a deep appreciation for this precious life and those you share it with.

I am a qualified Yoga Therapist (YogaCampus London, 2014-2016) and Teacher, and have explored a variety of different methods to deepen my understanding of Yoga. Teacher training qualifications include: Hatha, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yoga Nidra and Yoga Therapy. As well as teaching Yoga Therapy sessions at The Cancer Society, I offer one to one Yoga Therapy. I am also a qualified Mindfulness and Compassion teacher, level 4 trained and accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (UK). Meditation is the pedestal to my practice and I commit regularly to silent retreats to deepen my own practice and understanding of the nature of the mind and consciousness.

I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to study with some truly gifted and inspiring teachers. Most influential has been my meditation teacher, Burgs (art of meditation, UK). Others include, and are not limited to: Donna Farhi, Judith Hanson Lasater, Mark Beuvain, Shane and Craig Perkins (Yandara Yoga Institute), Karen Atkinson and Sam Loe. I also appreciate my everyday teachers and continually learn from my students, husband Joe, whanau (including our mischievous goats and chooks!) and the spontaneous lessons in my work and life.

I love music, biking, walking and growing food. I find spending time in nature fundamental to my practice, health & happiness. I feel truly fortunate to be living on the doorstep of this magnificent adventure playground! I often take my practice into the mountains, and delight in time alone amongst the peace and intelligence of nature.
